A Microsoft system failure has shaken the services of airlines using the system, including CATHAY PAC AIR (00293.HK) -0.060 (-0.744%) Short selling $13.22M; Ratio 23.075% and HK Express. Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Lam Sai-hung, expressed concern that some airlines have switched to manual check-in due to the global computer malfunction.
Noting that the airport has immediately activated the emergency response mechanism to minimize the impact of the incident on travelers, Lam said on his social networking page that he urged travelers to allow sufficient time for check-in at the airport and pay attention to the latest announcement.
