LUFAX (06623.HK) +0.160 (+1.301%) Short selling $1.64M; Ratio 8.041% announced that it has issued a total of approximately 509 million new shares to controlling shareholder PING AN (02318.HK) -0.050 (-0.136%) Short selling $344.53M; Ratio 27.663% under a scrip dividend scheme. Upon completion, PING AN's shareholding in the company will increase from 41.4% to 56.82%, making it a non-wholly owned subsidiary. At the same time, PING AN is required to make a mandatory unconditional cash offer at a price of $8.803 per share, a 28.4% discount to the closing price of LUFAX on the last trading day (3 July).
PING AN has no intention to privatise LUFAX and intends to maintain the listing status of LUFAX shares.
