MTR CORPORATION (00066.HK) +0.200 (+0.805%) Short selling $16.53M; Ratio 29.379% announced that it will increase the salaries of its staff according to their performance scores this year. Among them, the basic salary of non-managerial staff will be increased by 2.05% to 6.15%, and “performance awards” will be given to staff with outstanding performance.

MTR explained that the pay adjustment rates are determined annually in accordance with the established and proven pay review mechanism, taking into account prudent considerations of various factors such as the company's performance, the market and economic environment, the results of the Pay Trend Survey and the contributions of colleagues.

MTR indicated that it would review the relevant allowances and staff welfare arrangements from time to time. Among the enhancements to benefits and allowances introduced this year is the introduction of the 1+1 Octopus free ride offer for single full-time staff, and the option for eligible single full-time staff to nominate a friend or relative to enjoy the free ride benefit. The group believed the salary review and the various enhancement measures would help it attract talent.

In order to thank colleagues for their hard work in the past year, the company will give eligible colleagues “Discretionary Special Bonus” and “One-off Special Bonus” for the anniversary as a token of appreciation for the contributions made by the staff over the years.
