In May, the market in Mainland China shipped 30.329 million mobile phones, a year-on-year increment of 16.5%, as data released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) showed. Of these, 25.531 million units were 5G phones, a year-on-year increase of 26.6%, accounting for 84.2% of the total mobile phone shipments during the same period.
In the first five months of this year, the Mainland market shipped 122 million mobile phones, a year-on-year hike of 13.3%. Of these, 5G phones accounted for 102 million units, a year-on-year rise of 20.3%, accounting for 83.9% of the total mobile phone shipments during the same period.
