GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) Releases Newest Generation of Blade-type Lithium Ion Phosphate Batteries

　　Chinese media reported that GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) -0.040 (-0.449%) Short selling $43.53M; Ratio 12.880% has unveiled the latest generation of self-developed and self-produced blade-type lithium iron phosphate batteries, named the “Divine Shield Short Blade Battery” (literal translation of “神盾短刀電池”).

　　Compared with existing products in the market, the new blade battery product has significant advantages in terms of safety, cycle life, fast-charging capability and low-temperature discharge.

　　The battery has a cycle life of 3,500 cycles and can safely power driving for more than 1 million kilometres. The battery passed the tests without smoke, fire or explosion. Fast charging speed is 1.5 times faster than the existing “Long Blade” battery types, with charging from 10% to 80% taking 17 minutes and 4 seconds, and an average charging multiplier (C-rate) of 2.45C. The battery capacity is still above 90% in -30°C temperature environment. In terms of energy density, the new “Short Blade” battery product reaches 192Wh/kg.
