A Hong Kong court has postponed the winding-up hearing of COUNTRY GARDEN (02007.HK) 0.000 (0.000%) to 20 January 2025, Reuters reported.
KINGBOARD HLDG (00148.HK) +0.080 (+0.502%) Short selling $431.05K; Ratio 5.009% s Ever Credit filed a petition in February 2024 to request a winding-up of COUNTRY GARDEN, alleging that the latter owed a loan of US$205 million. COUNTRY GARDEN already defaulted on its offshore bonds worth US$11 billion last year.
The lawyer representing COUNTRY GARDEN said in court that the company will announce a restructuring plan for offshore bonds to creditors in September and plans to seek court approval early next year. According to the report, the bank lenders and bondholders also supported the postponement of the hearing.
