Chinese media reported that Alibaba Cloud Bailian, a subsidiary of BABA-SW (09988.HK) +0.600 (+0.833%) Short selling $383.43M; Ratio 19.236% , announced it will provide a cost-effective alternative foundation model replacement plan for Chinese users of OpenAI's application programming interface (API), offering 22 million free tokens and dedicated migration services for mainland developers.
It is learnt that the price of calling Qwen-plus, the main foundation model of Tongyi Qianwen series benchmarked to OpenAI's GPT-4, is RMB0.004 per 1,000 tokens on Alibaba Cloud Bailian, which is only one-fiftieth of the price of GPT-4.
